Ashippun Fire Department announces
The EMS Rescue Squad Campaign
is a great success!
We have purchased our new vehicle and it will be on display at the Ashippun Firefighter's Picnic on June 6, 7 and 8, 2007.
Thank you to everyone who supported us so generously.
The vehicle we previously used has fire department equipment such as air tanks and other firefighting equipment on it and we will continue to use it for that purpose. The new vehicle will be the first vehicle that is designated specifically for EMS. The new squad will cost about $165,000. New laws have required EMTs to acquire additional skills and use more equipment than ever to help keep our community safe.
Donations still welcome
Please send donations to Ashippun Fire Dept

The Ashippun EMS is a first responder unit that reponds to medical emergencies of all types in the area. They also stand by at structure fires in case medical assistance is necessary.
The First Responder unit began in 1975 with two firefighters that had an idea for a better way to help the community. They attended a basic EMT course and our growth has been positive since that meager start.
The rescue squad is part of the Ashippun Fire Department and each member must be a member of the department, but does not have to be a firefighter. Montyly drills are held with Stone Bank EMS and there are two joint drills per year with the fire department.
Sone Bank, Oconomowoc, Lebanon and Hartford EMS transport our patients. The Ashippun EMS is a member of the Dodge County EMS Association.
We currently have 18 State Certified Emergency Medical Technicians with five more currently in training. We also have five First Responders that recently finished their refresher course.
